/Bay Area Adventures

During Cal Day, students of U.C. Berkeley welcome new admits to campus. As part of the festivities, Innovative Design, Cal's largest design club, held a button-designing contest with the theme of "Bay Area Adventures," with the winning designs to be made into buttons and handed out.

My design was selected as a winner, along with four others. I chose to depict the iconic Golden Gate Bridge surrounded by morning fog. Of course, the Golden Gate is both a stunning piece of architecture and a world-famous structure strongly associated with the Bay Area, San Francisco, and the United States in general.

Bear: U.C. Berkeley's mascot

Lodge: requested to appear in the logo by Cal Lodge.

Colors: official Cal navy blue and gold

/Living Community

Living Community is a health and wellness blog, focused on promoting a healthy lifestyle and building community

Bonsai tree: client requested that the logo incorporate a tree. I picked the Bonsai, which embodies zen and calm.

Speech: The speech bubbles incorporated into the "leaves" of the tree represent communication, community, dialogue

Initials: The logo is composed of L's and C's, reflecting the identity of the Living Community.

/Halloween

I made this bundle of designs to use as cards during Halloween. I was inspired by traditional Halloween imagery, and wanted to keep the cards spooky but fun.

/Chemisense

ChemiSense is making the world’s first personal wearable air quality monitor.

Circuit: The logo's main imagery evokes an integrated circuit, reflecting Chemisense's focus on using engineering to solve problems.

Initials: A 'C' and 'S' are embedded into the circuit, representing the Chemisense brand.

/Wheeler Late-Night Study Program

The Wheeler Late Night Program opened 25 of Wheeler Hall’s classrooms to students between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Monday through Thursday. To promote the program, the ASUC commissioned poster designs to be put up throughout the campus.

My design was inspired by vintage travel posters, such as the Beach Town Posters series and Imperial Airlines posters. Since students often associate late-night study with stress, I emphasized the glamour and mystery of Wheeler Hall, a truly beautiful building, as seen under a full moon.

/Lifelong Medical Care

LifeLong Medical Care provides high-quality health and social services to underserved people of all ages; creates models of care for the elderly, people with disabilities and families; and advocates for continuous improvements in the health of our communities.

Totem: the "totem-like" layering of the figures represents LifeLong Medical Care's dedication to serving and caring for people throughout their lifetimes

Colors: blue and grey are both calm and neutral colors that are commonly associated with the healthcare field
